Dr. Alexandra Lianou is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Applied Microbiology in the Department of Biology of the University of Patras (Patras, Greece). She holds a B.Sc. degree in Agricultural Biotechnology (Agricultural University of Athens, Greece), a M.Sc. degree in Animal Sciences (Colorado State University, USA) and a Ph.D. degree in Food Microbiology (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece). Her research interests are related to the microbiological safety and quality of foods, Quantitative Microbiology, microbial interactions and stress responses, natural antimicrobial systems, biofilms and biotechnological applications of microbiology in the food industry and the environment. During her research activity, 44 articles have been published in peer-reviewed international journals [h-index: 19, citations (without self-citations): 1285]. In addition, she has been author/co-author in seven international publishers’ book chapters.
