The Finnish Association of Health Journalists awarded the 2025 Apple of Good Information award to Maijaliisa Erkkola, Professor of Nutrition at the University of Helsinki, partner of the TITAN project.
This recognition is both timely and well-deserved, as Maijaliisa has played an impostant role in communicating the new Finnish nutrition recommendations, published in late November 2024. As chair of the recommendation working group, she has explained the guidelines clearly across various media. Through her work, she has effectively highlighted both the key objectives of these recommendations and their strong scientific foundation.
For years, Maijaliisa has actively collaborated with journalists covering nutrition and health topics. In addition to being a respected researcher, she is a teacher and lecturer and has authored literature on children’s nutrition.
