TITAN took part in the final event of the ALLIANCE project, where project partner ILSI Europe represented the consortium, shared TITAN’s results, and engaged with other EU-funded initiatives working in similar fields.
The event marked an important milestone with the presentation of ALLIANCE’s policy recommendations focused on strengthening product traceability and transparency, two essential pillars for building consumer trust and promoting sustainability in the food system. Discussions highlighted how the combination of emerging technologies can significantly enhance the effectiveness of traceability solutions across the supply chain.
Andrea Colafranceschi (ILSI Europe) represented TITAN during the roundtable on emerging solutions for food traceability and consumer trust, alongside Lotte Hallez (KU Leuven, CUES project) and Armando Menéndez Estrada (ASINCAR, Watson project). The session provided an opportunity to present TITAN’s objectives and results, while exploring potential synergies among EU-funded projects within the EU Cluster for Food Traceability and Trust.
The ALLIANCE project is a three-year initiative funded by the EU Horizon Europe Programme that brings together 25 leading organisations from the food supply chain, policy, technology, innovation, academia, and public administration. Its overarching goal is to create a resilient ecosystem for quality-labelled foods (particularly organic and Geographical Indications (GI) products) by promoting traceability, transparency, and authenticity through advanced data governance and innovative technologies.
