TITAN participated in the “Beating Fraud and Building Trust with Europe’s Food Detectives” event by Euronews

The Beating Fraud and Building Trust with Europe’s Food Detectives event, hosted by Euronews science correspondent Jeremy Wilks, took place on 27 November in front of a live audience in Brussels and was shared worldwide on the Euronews YouTube channel.

TITAN coordinator Isabelle Guelinckx (ILSI EUurope) was part of the panel and spoke on How do we ensure high quality food in Europe?, representing the project and tapping into food traceability and trust. TITAN joined together with other EU projects, CUES, SEA2SEE and ALLIANCE.

How do you spot fake olive oil and honey? What does a totally transparent cheese, beer or wine supply chain look like? And can you trust the fish and meat on your plate? These questions were discussed, together with new technologies to boost transparency and traceability in food, the latest policy initiatives from the European Commission, and the darker side of food fraud with a criminal expert from Interpol.
